The E.S.I. Corporation is a tripartite body and include representatives of employers and employees. Similarly at the state level, Regional Boards are set up including representatives of employers and employees.
The functions of the Regional Board include:-
1. To make recommendations from time to time, in regard to changes which may in its opinion be advisable to amend the Act, Rules and Regulations, and forms and procedure to be followed for the smooth running of the scheme.
2. To review from time to time the working of the scheme in the state with regard medical side as well as cash benefit and advise the corporation and the State Govt. on measures to improve the working of scheme both in regard to payment of cash benefits and administering the medical benefits.
3. The Regional board for U.P. Region has been reconstituted this year on 10th Jan. 2006
.
